Coworking in Abuja has been an adventure, and every stop brings something new. This time, for my Escaping the House series, I explored Living Room Abuja in Wuse 2, a restaurant designed not just for dining but also for lounging and working comfortably. With freelancers and remote workers constantly searching for spaces that balance comfort, good food, and reliable internet, this spot felt like a natural next step in the series.
In this review, I’ll cover everything you need to know, from first impressions to pricing, ambience, and how it compares to other coworking spaces in Abuja. If you’re curious about whether Living Room is worth your time (and money), keep reading.

Coworking spaces in Wuse 2: Is Living Room worth it?
Finding Living Room was surprisingly easy. There was no traffic at all getting there, and the space is located in a gated environment (something I personally love). What I didn’t realize at first was that it’s inside the same premises as Yellow Door Hotel, since they actually own Living Room. Both buildings share the compound, which comes with ample parking space.
From the outside, it’s not immediately obvious how stunning the interior would be. But the moment you step in, the ambience hits you. White walls, large glass windows letting in natural sunlight, oak wood floors, and a mix of couches and proper work tables set the tone. It wasn’t as cozy or intimate as I initially expected, instead, it’s a wide open space with a sophisticated and modern feel. The setting is so welcoming that it really lives up to the name “Living Room.”
Best coworking spaces for freelancers in Abuja
Living Room strikes a balance between being a restaurant and a functional workspace. The seating is flexible: couches for lounging, proper tables for focused work, and even an outdoor seating area with fans. Indoors, the air conditioning keeps the place cool, while natural lighting and sockets everywhere make it practical.
The Wi-Fi deserves a special mention, one of the fastest and most reliable I’ve experienced in Abuja. As a heavy internet user, I can confirm it holds up for actual work, not just light browsing.
Despite being a restaurant, the vibe was surprisingly work oriented. Freelancers scattered across the space made it feel like an unspoken co working hub. Around 5 p.m., you notice a shift as professionals stop by after work to grab a late meal or drink, but even then, it never feels chaotic. The space is large enough to stay comfortable and respectful.

Is Living Room Abuja in Wuse 2 worth it for freelancers?
One of the strongest draws of Living Room is the food. I ordered the creamy penne pasta, and when I requested it spicy, they did not hold back. It came with huge chunks of chicken and bell peppers, generous and flavorful. My friend had the All in One Breakfast with a lemonade, and both meals were top tier. I also had their lemonade, which was refreshingly good.
Food prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality. I spent about ₦27,000 total, including two bottles of water, but you can easily enjoy a good meal for as low as ₦16,000. For a space with this level of ambience and service, the value felt unmatched.
Another nice touch was if you take a picture of your meal and tag them on Instagram, you get a complimentary mocktail. Whether it’s a promo or a permanent feature, it’s a smart way of keeping customers engaged.

Internet & Facilities
Living Room nails the essentials:
- Wi-Fi: fast, reliable, and one of the best public networks I’ve used.
- Charging outlets: available both indoors and outdoors.
- Toilets: clean, well-stocked, and thoughtfully designed with pretty wallpaper and even a shower bidet. Tissue, hand wash, and lotion were all available.
They also offer event rentals:
- The main indoor Living Room restaurant space rents for ₦200,000 per hour.
- A smaller, private indoor space rents for ₦65,000 per hour and can fit around 15–20 people.
- The outdoor space is also rentable, and though I didn’t confirm the exact price, it’s around ₦25,000 per hour by estimate.

Freelancer-friendly spots in Abuja: Why ambience matters
Living Room feels less like a traditional coworking space and more like a hybrid that caters to freelancers, remote workers, and casual diners alike. In the mornings and afternoons, it’s easy to focus with freelancers around you creating a quiet, respectful vibe. Later in the day, it transitions smoothly into a social spot where meetings, casual dining, and after-work relaxation take place.
The staff were exceptional, one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in Nigeria. They were attentive without being intrusive, professional, and always ready to help.

Budgeting for workspace costs as a freelancer in Abuja
While Living Room is not a coworking space in the traditional sense, it does offer flexibility. You don’t have to commit to memberships or day passes, instead, you simply pay for your food and drinks, which makes it a good option for freelancers who want variety.
That said, it leans more toward a luxury workspace compared to budget friendly spots like Olusegun Obasanjo Library at Yaradua center. If you’re looking to save money, this may not be your everyday office substitute. But for those who value ambience, good food, and a professional yet relaxed environment, it’s worth the price.

Coworking vs. café workspaces: Which is better for productivity?
Comparing Living Room to coworking hubs like Astound Innovation Hub or Pioneers Park, it’s clear the goals differ. Living Room isn’t built for structured work. It’s more about blending leisure with productivity. However, when compared to cafés like Café De Vie or Lomo Café, Living Room stands out for its superior food, faster Wi-Fi, and top notch staff.
If you’re a freelancer or remote worker who thrives in open, beautiful environments with the option to grab high quality meals, Living Room is a fantastic choice. On the other hand, if you’re budget conscious and want strictly work oriented facilities, coworking spaces may make more sense.
Who Is Living Room Abuja For
- Freelancers who like mixing work and leisure
- Remote workers looking for a change of scenery
- Teams or groups seeking to rent spaces for meetings/events
- Anyone who values ambience, food, and good service alongside work
