If you’ve been following my coworking space review series across Abuja, you know I’ve visited quite a few. From Boldspace in Gwarinpa to Café One in Central Area. Today, we’re checking out The Bunker Abuja, one of the city’s more talked about coworking hubs. Located right in the heart of Wuse 2, this space has built a reputation for being both affordable and packed with amenities, but does it actually deliver for freelancers and remote workers?
Before we get into it, just a quick reminder that for every space review i write, there are actual videos of the space that I post on my tiktok (@beinghauwa) and you can check them out here. Alright, Let’s get into it.

Location & Accessibility
The Bunker sits in a prime area, surrounded by popular spots like Vybes by Anne and 7 Bistro. It’s easy to locate and very secure, tucked inside a gated compound with its own parking and security staff. From the outside, it looks more like a residential building (just like Boldspace in Gwarinpa), but once you step in, you realize it’s been converted into a multifunctional workspace. For those of you still exploring ideas of what you can offer as a freelancer you can check out my list of ideas.

First Impressions & Ambience
Now, here’s where things get interesting. The Bunker truly lives up to its name. From the photos online, I had a feeling it might feel a little overwhelming, and I was right. The interior is bold, chaotic, and packed with furniture and décor in clashing colors (think red, blue, yellow, and green). While I could tell everything was intentionally designed, it still felt cramped. You can clearly sense that it was once a residential building turned into a coworking space. But unlike Boldspace, where the team reworked the layout to match an office vibe. The Bunker mostly added office furniture and called it a day.

Still, it’s a huge building with a lot going on: private offices, shared spaces, and even group activities like French classes happening in a seminar hall during my visit. These activities don’t interfere with people working, it’s spacious enough for multiple things to happen at once. And yet… the standout for me was a glasshouse-style office just outside the main building. Wooden floors, vines draping down the walls, flooded with sunlight. It felt peaceful, natural, and balanced. That little spot completely redeemed my experience. They also have an outdoor work area with sockets and shade, no air conditioning, but strong Wi-Fi and a refreshing breeze made it a good alternative to the indoor chaos.

Workspace Setup
If there’s one thing The Bunker isn’t lacking, it’s options. There’s a workspace for everyone, from shared coworking desks to private offices, meeting rooms, and large event halls. Power outlets: everywhere. Wi-Fi: very fast and reliable. Conducive for deep work: depends on where you sit. The main building felt overwhelming, but the outdoor or glasshouse sections are perfect for focus.

Café & Amenities
They have a small in-house café, though it’s limited to beverages for now, no food menu yet. Prices are affordable, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants in Wuse 2 if you need something more substantial. Amenities include a café, outdoor work area, multiple meeting rooms, private offices, and event halls.
Booking & Payment
Booking is straightforward. You can walk in, and the receptionist will assist you immediately. They also offer daily and monthly payment options (no app needed).

Overall Experience At The Bunker Abuja
The crowd here was a mix of freelancers, students, and corporate professionals. The staff were friendly and attentive, though it didn’t necessarily feel like a community space where people network or collaborate. It’s more of a come, work, and go environment. I personally struggled to focus inside the main building because of how visually busy it felt, but working outside made a huge difference. The best part is the affordability and multiple amenities. The worst however, for me was the layout and lack of natural light indoors.

Pricing & Value
Compared to other workspaces in Abuja: Boldspace feels more refined and intentionally designed. Café One is far more luxurious. Astound Hub balances both aesthetics and practicality beautifully. Still, The Bunker wins in terms of variety of amenities. There’s literally a space for every need, from solo freelancers to teams running workshops. Would I go back? Yes, but I’d stick to the outdoor or glasshouse sections.

Final Thoughts On The Bunker Coworking space
If you’re a freelancer or team looking for a budget friendly coworking space in Wuse 2 with plenty of variety, The Bunker is worth a try. It’s not the most aesthetically relaxing environment, but it definitely checks the boxes for affordability, fast Wi-Fi, and multiple workspace options. If you prefer minimal, airy spaces, this might not be your vibe. But if you can look past the chaos, there’s a lot of value packed into this coworking “bunker.” You can find a list of freelancing websites for nigerians here.
