On my hunt for the best coworking spaces in Gwarinpa, Abuja (shoutout to one of my followers who specifically asked me to check out more in this area), I stopped by Boldspace. If you’re a freelancer, coach, or entrepreneur looking for a professional setting to work or host clients, without committing to a yearly office rent, this might be exactly what you’ve been searching for. From the outside, Boldspace doesn’t look flashy, but once you step in, it’s a whole different world. Let me take you through my experience so you can decide if it’s worth checking out.

Coworking Spaces in Gwarinpa: Is Boldspace Worth It?

At first glance, Boldspace could pass for a residential building, a cute one, but I drove past it twice before asking someone for directions. The building has a simple black gate, located at No 5 Stephen Orosanye Street, Gwarinpa, Abuja (900108). Once inside though, everything changes.

The parking is ample, the surroundings are clean, and as you walk in, you’re greeted by a cozy waiting lounge that leads to a larger lounge area where the receptionist sits, matching the vibe perfectly. The interior feels like a proper, sophisticated coworking space, a nice surprise after the low key exterior.

They’ve designed the space with thoughtful details: art on the walls, mural of a full city skyline, and plenty of greenery that makes the atmosphere feel creative but professional.

Space & Design: Boldspace’s Layout

Boldspace has several options depending on your work style:

  • Lounge-style coworking area: With booths that comfortably fit 4+ people and smaller square desks for 2.
  • Designated Desk Space: Partitioned desks that give you a mini cubicle feel.
  • Private offices: Multiple sizes available, some with private toilets. Perfect for teams, solo freelancers, freelance executives, coaches, and entrepreneurs who need a professional setting to receive high-end clients without committing to a yearly rent.
  • Mini private office: Can fit about 2 people max.

I loved the flexibility. Whether you’re carrying a lot (like me) and need a booth, or you prefer something more contained like a cubicle, you’ll find your fit here.

Best Coworking Spaces for Freelancers in Abuja

One thing I’ve learned from hopping across coworking spots is that not all spaces are created equal. Boldspace really nails the aesthetics and comfort factor. The art, plants, and general layout give it a polished, professional feel while still being cozy enough for freelancers and remote workers.

Each has its own vibe, but Boldspace stands toe to toe with Pioneers Park.

Amenities at Boldspace

This is a workspace that focuses on the essentials:

  • Wi-Fi: Good enough for everyday work, though I still hotspotted occasionally (I’m a heavy internet user).
  • Power: Plenty of sockets and extension cables, huge plus.
  • Kitchenette: Comes with a fridge, microwave, shelves, and complimentary tea/coffee. They also stock water and drinks in the lounge fridge.
  • Light & Power: Always powered with generator backup.
  • Toilet: The restroom was clean and functional, but it didnt match the space’s design. Little details like this stand out to me. Also, there was
just one toilet serving the shared coworking area. While it was tidy, I couldn’t help but feel like this might become inconvenient during busier hours

How the Right Workspace Can Boost Productivity as a Freelancer

I always say this, the environment you work in either builds your habits or breaks them. Boldspace is designed to minimize distractions. No background music, no unnecessary noise, just quiet focus. The lighting is good, the chairs are comfortable, and you can fully separate yourself from the outside world.

And if you’re just starting your freelancing journey, this kind of environment matters. I even created a free guide Make Your First 100k as a Freelancer to help beginners combine the right mindset, skills, and resources to hit that first milestone.

Spaces like Boldspace make it easier to stay consistent, which is half the battle.

Comparing Coworking Spaces within Gwarinpa Abuja

Traffic in and out of Gwarinpa can be a headache during peak hours, but if you live within the area, Boldspace is gold. Unlike some spaces in busier parts of Abuja, it has the advantage of being tucked away in a residential style street while still delivering a full professional setup once you’re inside.

I’d still say Pioneers Park is more versatile (with extras like a restaurant, lounge, and even a mini golf course), but if you want affordability + design + quiet focus, Boldspace holds its own.

Pricing & Membership: Day Passes vs. Monthly Plans

Here’s the breakdown of Boldspace’s pricing:

  • Designated Desk Space (with the cubicle): ₦5,000/day | ₦23,500/week | ₦65,000/month
  • Studio office: ₦12,000/day | ₦50,000/week | ₦120,000/month
  • Team office: ₦25,000/day | ₦100,000/week | ₦230,000/month
  • Executive office: ₦30,000/day | ₦120,00/week | ₦250,000/month

Compared to others I’ve visited, Boldspace has one of the affordable day-pass options in Abuja. And unlike most spaces, they offer a weekly option, which I think is genius for freelancers who don’t want to commit to a monthly plan. If you’re just starting out on your freelance journey, you can find a list of freelance platforms for Nigerians here.

With that being said, their monthly prices here are within the same range as other coworking space I have visited so far.

Is a Coworking Space Worth It for Beginner Freelancers in Nigeria?

If you’re just starting freelancing, you might be wondering if it’s worth paying for coworking when you could work from home. Here’s my take: coworking is an investment in focus and community.

When your home environment is full of distractions, coworking gets you out of that rut. Even if you don’t sign up for a monthly plan, a weekly or daily pass at Boldspace can help you reset and get serious work done.
